Cape to Cape 1/4 Dry point etching with watercolour details. On exhibit at the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery until 6July as part of the selling exhibit with the Borderline group of local artists. This piece was definitely challenging to produce as it is the largest etching I have done with 17 etching plates going through my printpress multiple times. A labour of love after a wonderful adventure walking a section of the Cape to Cape walk in WA with stunning scenery and awesome company. It will be hard to let go of if it sells. Obviously my art abilities are more advanced than my photography and insta skills 🤣. Thanks to @stanthorpeartgallery @borderlineregionalartsassoc for involving me.

After a recent trip to WA and walking part of the Cape to Cape track with a great group of friends I found new inspiration to get back into some etching and watercolours. I’m very thankful for such a wonderful experience. Hopefully I’ll have some more editions coming soon.

A few new pieces I’ve been working on lately, mostly with stitched banksia stamen. It’s a very busy time of year with so many exhibit deadlines coming up! Details yet to come.

Sometimes I question the challenges I set myself ... this extremely large and intricate piece includes stitching Banksia stamen, protea, seed pods, date palm and even shed snake skin. The snake skin is definitely one of the most deleicate mediums I have worked with but the colours are beautiful.
Did you know that having snake skin in your home is believed to bring wealth and good fortune in some cultures.
This native garden creation is off to the Toowoomba Grammar Art Show, 28 - 30 March @grammarartshow

It’s been extremely hot here this week, so I’ve been hiding in the aircon in my studio and being very industrious working on some new designs.

For the last couple of months I have been quietly working away at a weaving commission for a friend. A good couple of km of twine later ... after numerous audio books and some not so helpful participation from my cat ... I have finally completed the challenge and am giving my poor hands a break. I can't wait to see these pieces installed into the new reno's.

Over the weekend I was teaching workshops with my botanical stitching in Goondiwindi, this was a new challenge for me. It was amazing to see all of the amazing creations and the happy faces. Thank you to all of the enthusiastic students and @rivalglenda @goondiwindibotanicgardens

I was thrilled to achieve a 2nd place in the Open Section at Aspects Art Show in Goondiwindi last night. Always a high calibre mix of artists each year and a fantastic team of volunteers doing an awesome job running a brilliant show. Thanks to Madi @cornerstoregallery for making the trip north and for choosing my work amongst the winners. Thanks also to the Aspects team @aspectsart. The art show is on Friday and Saturday and artworks available for purchase thru @aspectsart
